As the Director of Health Equity Community Outreach & Engagement at the American Cancer Society, Jason leads the strategic design, implementation, and management of programs, initiatives, and partnerships focused on addressing cancer disparities. His work focuses on driving innovative, community-centered strategies to meet the unique needs of diverse populations and advance equitable health outcomes. Previously, Jason served as the National Senior Program Lead for Workforce Well-being at the American Heart Association, where he oversaw the Well-being Works Better initiative and led the implementation of the Health Equity in the Workforce program—a collaborative effort with the Deloitte Health Equity Institute and the SHRM Foundation. Jason's career includes significant leadership roles at Duke University, IBM, and Cisco Systems. He is a graduate of Leadership North Carolina and is recognized for his dedication to organizational well-being. He was featured as a WELCOA Member Spotlight and was voted as a Top 100 Health Promotion Professional. Jason holds a bachelor’s degree in Sports Medicine and a Master’s degree in Health Promotion. He is a Certified Member of the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing, Inc. (CHES) and teaches undergraduate and graduate health promotion and public health courses. In his free time, Jason enjoys spending quality time in Oak Island, NC, deep-sea fishing, exercising, gardening, and cherishing moments with his two teenage sons, Caden and Cole, as well as his partner, Rocky.
